AUSTRALIAN AERIAL
LANDSCAPE FABRIC LENGTH
Australian landscapes are defined by strong shifts in light, colour, and scale. This project draws on abstract aerial photography to explore these variations, focusing on how atmospheric conditions create layered, changing views of the land.
An aerial photograph taken in Port Hedland, Western Australia by Nearmap informed the fabric length design, acting as both a colour reference and a guide for motif development. The image’s organic forms and warm, earthy tones translated naturally into the dye palette, supporting a cohesive and landscape-driven textile outcome.
