URBAN OASIS

2019 | Wool, Fabric, Wire, Netting | 300cm x 200cm

This site-specific installation explores the concept of transverse orientation within an urban environment, referencing the idea of an oasis of greenery set among dense city architecture. Installed in the former Norwegian Seamen’s Church, the work was designed to engage viewers immediately upon entering the space.

The installation brings together a range of textile techniques, including finger knitting, weaving, and tassel binding. These processes work collectively to create a layered, immersive structure that contrasts softness and tactility with the rigidity of the surrounding built environment.
